2011 MAPECT Taiwan M&A Awards
 
Mergers and acquisitions activity has been on the rise in Taiwan; and the recent signing of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) between Taiwan and China will only fuel this growing trend. In fact the past year has been transformative for M&A transactions. Not only has ECFA facilitated the rise in Cross-Strait M&A deals, but the Taiwanese government’s policies to welcome foreign investments into Taiwan have also brought forth growing interest in cross-border M&A.
 
This year the Taiwan Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Council (MAPECT) will host the first annual 2011 MAPECT Taiwan M&A Awards – an event that will celebrate and highlight this year’s most impressive M&A deals.

There are five main awards:
2011 Most Innovative M&A Deal of the Year Award
2011 Cross-Strait M&A Deal of the Year Award
2011 Most Influential M&A Deal of the Year Award
2011 M&A Corporate Responsibility Award
2011 M&A Outstanding Contribution of the Year Award
 
A panel of key industry players has been selected to judge and pick the winners from a list of M&A transactions completed between June 2010 and June 2011. 
 
The 2011 MAPECT Taiwan M&A Awards is hosted by both the Taiwan Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Council and Business Today, a preeminent weekly publication that focuses on Taiwan’s economic and business environment.
