2011 MAPECT M&A and Private Equity Training Program

Mergers, acquisitions, and private equity have been growing trends particularly within the Asia Pacific region. In Taiwan, M&A transactions have been becoming increasingly frequent, especially following the signing of the landmark Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) between Taiwan and China. While PE is still relatively small compared to neighboring Asian nations, PE activity in Taiwan is similarly on the rise with growing international interest in investing in Taiwan.

In an effort to promote and enhance knowledge on M&A and PE in Taiwan, MAPECT will be hosting the “2011 MAPECT M&A and Private Equity Training Program” in July and August.

This two-day event aims to train academically professionals interested in engaging in M&A and PE not only in Taiwan, but also in the Asia Pacific region. The courses offer both a theoretical and practical curriculum that is highly applicable to a range of professions, including accountants, legal, investment professionals, and support staff.

This course is led by key industry players who will utilize their in-depth background and experience to structure the lesson plans and drive the foundations of the training program.  Lecturers include:

  • C.Y. Huang - Chairman, Taiwan M&A and Private Equity Council
  • Cheng-Yi Shiu - Professor, Department of Finance at National Central University
  • Jie-Haun Lee - Professor, Department of Finance at National Chengchi University
  • James Wang - CEO, Ernst & Young
  • Kenneth Liu -  Managing Director, PriceWaterhouseCooper Financial Advisory Services
  • Jennifer Wang - Partner, Chen & Lin Attorneys-at-law

The course will analyze important trends within the M&A and PE industries via important case studies. Lecturers will combine the case analysis with theory, ultimately creating a content-rich curriculum that lays a fundamental understanding of not only Taiwan’s M&A and PE trends, but also the global M&A and PE developments.
